Sacred Disruption Registration
Sacred Disruption: A Journey Toward Racial Justice and Spiritual Transformation is a transformative training designed for congregants in predominantly white Christian churches who feel called to pursue racial justice as an expression of their faith. Grounded in Scripture's call to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly" (Micah 6:8), this training invites participants into courageous truth-telling, deep self-reflection, and faithful action.
Calvary Baptist church will host Dr. Debbie Mixon Mitchell, Executive Director and Leadership consultant with Equity and Inclusion MM Consulting, as she facilitates Sacred Disruption with adult congregants ready to engage in intermediate-level racial justice work (those who are beyond the belief that racism is a thing of the past and not relevant today) to deepen their understanding and practice of racial justice.
Please join us as we:
· Engage more effectively in truth telling while unpacking race and racism.
· Develop a greater understanding of how individual and systemic racism operate.
· Identify actions to disrupt/dismantle racism and social injustice.
The workshop will be two consecutive Sunday afternoons in October, 19 and 26 after worship, from 12-4. Light lunch will be provided. There will be pre-work to complete prior to the first session. Registration runs throughout September into early October. Everyone will need to register, so prework information can be provided. Online/Zoom participation will also be offered.
